I am deeply appalled at the sudden death of our good friend, Sohn, HeeJung who suddenly passed away early this morning on December 13, 2006. He has lived a 58 years of short life, survived by a loving wife with two daughters.
He was such a bright, amiable and generous guy that everyone wants to have as a friend and hang around. He came to America early, as a doyen he loved to advise and get along with so many friends.
All of our friends in LA was surprised to hear he had stomach cancer in early March. He was the strongest and healthiest guy among us, fun-loving, and good singer with dazzling dance and also a good drinker...He showed up his last golf with us in early April. He said he would be back soon after a simple surgery based on the preliminary check by the doctor. I still remember we chatted and drank in our dinner after golf. He showed no fear at all......
He had first operation on 4/26, found his stomach was full with cancer contrary to the early prognosis, cutting out all of it and connecting directly to intestine. Even though he found it is a little bit serious than expected, he never lost his confidence in sound recovery whenever we talked to him on the phone. He had second operation in August. It is because they found out he had unexpected malpractice by a surgeon. They inserted a tube in his belly, which had scratch some parts of bowl nearby, causing internal bleeding and high fever for a long time which cause him the unwanted ordeal. On late October, he underwent third operation after the cancer transmitted even to colon. Lately he was suffered from sepsis due to the malfunction of kidney. Some of our friends went to see him two weeks ago, he was so weak, lying motionless with a breathing hose inserted thru his neck, seeing the guys in deadpan face. No one could imagine he became like that.
It is a terrible loss to us. We miss his always smiling face. He left so many memorabilia I want to keep. Such a good guy left us this early. He had two westpoint graduated daughters, his source of proud and accomplishment.

Our prayer and heart is with his family.... I have to say farewell to my beloved Hee Jung...... we love you and miss you..... so long... In his grace sleep in peace....... |
